Summer Reading Has Arrived!

Welcome to Summer Reading 2013! This year's Summer Reading program lasts from today through July 27. Kids aged 0-18 can pick up a log at the Service Desk and keep track of their reading to earn great prizes!

Keep track of reading by marking off a space on the log for each book read, every 20 minutes spent reading or every 30 pages read. Come in periodically to pick up prizes - and when kids finish, they can enter into a drawing for some even bigger prizes.

We also have some great events going on this summer for children, tweens, and teens. Check out our homepage for more information on each of these events. No registration is required for any event except for the Harry Potter Palooza on July 17.

We also have summer reading programs for teens and adults. Teens can log their reading online here, while adults can fill out a drawing entry (available at the library) for each six hours they read this summer.

We hope to see you here!

Star Wars Day - May the 4th Be With You!

On May 4th, the Apache Junction Public Library hosted Star Wars Day - May the 4th Be With You. Visitors of all ages could enjoy Yoda soda, create lightsabers, make Yoda origami, craft Yoda ears and Princess Leia headbands, and more. The highlight of the day was definitely visits from the 501st Dune Sea Garrison and the Mandalorian Mercs, who took time out of a very busy day to sign autographs and spend time with our patrons.

Check out a slideshow below of photos from the day. This was lots of fun and we can't wait to do it again!

Splash Water Play! Pictures

Yesterday, we hosted Splash Water Play!, one of our favorite events.

This event allows kids to learn about the properties of water while having fun at the same time. It's easy to replicate at home, too - you just need a hose, buckets, toys and, of course, adult supervision.

Enjoy some photos from the day below:
