Ask the Youth Department

We ask: What is your favorite children's book a this moment?

Pam: A Boy and His Bunny by Sean Bryan because it begs to be read aloud! It has big type, simple yet effective illustrations, and a hilarious concept that shows you can do anything if you set your mind to it, even with a bunny on your head!

Rachelle: Don't Push the Button by Bill Cotter because it's so hard to NOT push the button! Not only do you get tempted to push the button but to also shake the book and scratch the main character's tummy. I love that this book is so interactive and inviting for kids.

Stephanie: My favorite books to read are the Pigeon Series by Mo Willems. My boys would love for me to read the Pigeon book because you just can’t help being animated and goofy while doing so. All kids have a little pigeon in them, adults too sometimes, I think that’s what makes them so much fun.

Fun in Store!

Hey families! Check out what our Youth Department has in store for you this fall! Stephanie and Rachelle participated in a mentoring project and received funds to purchase literacy based items. This project is supported by the Arizona State Library, Archives & Public Records, a division of the Secretary of State, with federal funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. This is just part of the amazing items purchased. Find out what else we bought by coming to events throughout the fall!
